I can't speak for the OP, simply in my example during the windows x upgrade, the commuter has been removed, when I connect the USB device it shows up as a Multimedia Controller that needs a commuter.
I have tried to use the Windows 7 and Windows eight drivers to get it to work however Windows reports there are no drivers for this device on the disk.
The adapter is using a SMIusbgrabber3c commuter, which does not seem to exist supported by Windows ten. Is in that location whatever known issues with this driver and are there whatever piece of work around that could be attempted?

I take the same problem with my EasyCap I also take Windows 10. I installed the commuter from the disc that I got with my EasyCap that installed ok only with I click on it, it comes up with (could not initalize the capture device) loads but falls to past usable so when I looked in my Device Director it comes up in other and it has an alert on the device so when I endeavour to update it I use the (search automatically for updated commuter software) information technology go's off and looks then it comes upwardly with (Windows was unable to install your SM-USB-007. (this is my easycap) Windows could not find commuter software for your device) I also tryed it in another usb only it still comes upwards with the same problem could y'all help me delight.

Method 1: Troubleshoot

- Press Windows key +X, select Command panel
- Modify the view past option on the top correct to Large icons
- Click on troubleshooting and click on the view all selection on the left panel
- Run the Hardware and devices troubleshooter
Method two.
Attempt updating the latest USB devices from the manufacturer'due south website and check if the issue persists.
Follow the steps to update the USB drivers:
a. Press Windows central + 10 cardinal and click Device Manager.
b. Expand the USB driver .
c. Right-click on the USB and click on Update driver software.
d. Restart the computer and check.

This is a simple fix. for windows 10.... The driver is installed but Windows can not find it for some reason.
If yous Plug in your usb easy cap device before you lot installed the software cd you will have to uninstall and reinstall (Without Plugging in the capture device.) Once you uninstall and RE-Boot. at present Without Plugging in the USB Capture Device install the Easy cap software from the cd. Install commuter, video software... i have Easy Cap usb 2.0
now RE-BOOT
After reckoner starts up NOW Plug in the USB Capture device....
windows will chime and at present open command console and open up device director.
expect for either {{ sm usb 007 }} OR {{ SM grabber }} or something like that. (Deceit recall the name)
Once y'all detect the problem device in device managing director --Right CLICK and click UPDATE DEVICE DRIVER
Window pops up and now click Browse my computer for drive software. click that.
window pops upwardly. Click browse button...
little window pops up. click locale drive C: click it
click program files (x86) scroll to somagic click information technology
find smiusbgrabber3c click information technology
Now pick your windows version.. vista or windows seven.... either 32 bit or 64 bit click the one yous take. If y'all have windows 10 just option either 32 or 64 depending on if you lot have 32 or 64 scrap windows 10 installed. ( you can observe this under organization) click next.... windows will now install bulldoze bulldoze and your sofware will now evidence the capture device....... relish my windows users.

- Uninstall the unknown device in device managing director
- Create a Windows restore bespeak
- Go to http://www.driverscape.com/download/sm-usb-007 and scroll downward to the 2d last commuter.
Driver details should be:
Driver Version: ane.0.8.28
Release Date: 2011-01-26
File Size: 546.04K
Supported Bone: Windows x 64 bit, Windows viii.1 64bit, Windows 7 64bit
- Download the zip file and extract to a folder (virus scan first of course!).
- After the extraction, right click on the SmiUsbGrabber3C.inf file and select install.
Your USB Device should be installed and recognised now. You may need to reboot if need be.
